About Us
Coaches Who Develop People,
Not Just Skills.
Anyone can teach a kid to write code. What matters more is teaching a kid how to persist when it breaks, encourage a teammate who is frustrated, and own their work even when it's difficult.
What Makes Our Coaches Different
Character coaches first. Technology teachers second.
Every instructor at Love to Code Academy is trained as a coach of character first. They do not just teach programs — they guide students through real challenges in a way that develops the whole person.
When a student gets stuck, our coaches don't fix the problem. They ask: "What have you tried?" "What do you think might be causing this?" "Who on your team could help?" That approach builds persistence and independent thinking — skills that last long after the session is over.
The Coaching Loop
Four steps. Every interaction. Every session.
Observe
Coaches watch for visible character actions. If it cannot be observed, it cannot be named.
Name It
Not "good job" — but "That's persistence. You kept working after it broke."
Reinforce
Acknowledge aligned behavior. Address misaligned behavior immediately and redirect clearly — no lectures.
Repeat
Character is built through the same traits being named and reinforced across every session, over time.
Lab Tech Mentors
Our most advanced students become coaches.
Lab Tech mentors help coaches, support younger students through their belt journeys, and model the character traits the academy is built on. They are students who have grown into leaders — and their presence makes the room better for everyone in it.
"Watching a 13-year-old patiently guide a 7-year-old through their first program is one of the most powerful things that happens at Love to Code Academy."
Join Our Team
We are always looking for coaches who believe in developing the whole child — not just teaching technology. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
