Our Values

Our Values

Character Built on Something That Lasts

Timeless values, lived out every day in how we coach, communicate, and care.

Why These Values

We didn’t invent these values. We recognized them.

The traits we build into students at Love to Code Academy have been recognized across cultures and centuries as the qualities that define a life well-lived. Patience. Integrity. Kindness. Self-control. Commitment. Every great teacher and every good parent has always known these matter.

Two thousand years ago, the Apostle Paul described them with precision in Galatians 5:22–23:

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Then he made an observation that has never stopped being true: “Against such things there is no law.”

Think about what that means. In all of recorded history, no government has ever passed a law against kindness. No civilization has outlawed patience. No legal system has ever argued that integrity is harmful to children. These qualities are beyond the reach of legislation because they are the foundation of it. They are the things every human community, across every era and every background, has agreed make a person good.

That universality is why they sit at the center of everything we do. Not because they belong to any one tradition. Because they belong to everyone.

These are the values we are committed to instilling, encouraging, and supporting in every student we serve.

How Our Character Framework Reflects These Values

Our four pillars, Relationships, Responsibility, Purpose, and Leadership, reflect the same qualities Paul described. Here is how they connect.

What Paul Described What We Build at LTCA How Students Practice It
Love Teamwork Supporting teammates, not just their own performance
Joy Passion Bringing energy to the work, even when it is hard
Peace Harmony Creating a classroom where every student belongs
Patience Persistence Staying with a difficult problem instead of walking away
Kindness Sportsmanship Treating teammates and opponents with genuine respect
Goodness Integrity Doing the right thing when no one is watching
Faithfulness Commitment Following through on every project, every session
Gentleness Harmony How coaches communicate, correct, and encourage
Self-Control Self-Control Managing emotions under pressure and frustration

What This Looks Like in Practice

These values aren’t posted on a wall. They are coached, practiced, and reinforced in every single session.

In the Classroom

Coaches model patience, kindness, and encouragement. When a student struggles, we don’t express frustration. We lean in. We believe every student is capable of growth, and we treat them accordingly.

In Competition

Sportsmanship isn’t optional here. Students learn to win with humility and lose with grace. They learn to respect their opponents, follow the rules, and represent themselves and their team with integrity, regardless of the outcome.

In the Community

We want our students to leave the academy as better people, more collaborative, more resilient, more willing to lead and serve. That’s not just good for them. It’s good for every family, classroom, and community they’re part of.

In Leadership

Students develop mentorship and influence, learning to turn everything they have built outward in service of the people around them. This is where the character they have practiced becomes a habit they carry everywhere.

These Values Belong to Every Child

Every parent, regardless of background, wants the same things for their child.

They want them to be kind to people who are different from them. They want them to stay the course when things get hard. They want them to lead by example, not by rank.

Those hopes do not belong to any one tradition. They belong to every family that wants their child to grow into a good human being.

That is who Love to Code Academy is here for.

Every child is welcome here. Not as an exception. Because these values were never anyone’s to own in the first place. They belong to every student ready to grow into them.
