A first coding or robotics class where your child feels at home.
At Love to Code Academy, every new student starts at the White Belt, the first belt, like in martial arts. Your child builds something, tries again when it doesn't work, and learns with a coach who says out loud what they did well.
No experience needed. Your child does not bring equipment. Classes limited to 10 students. Coaches are background-checked.
The first class is where a child decides whether this is for them.
Another year of games and videos other people made, when your child could be building something that works.
A hesitant child who stays hesitant, because nobody made it safe to try something new and get it wrong the first time.
A first class where your child feels behind can be the last one.
What changes for your child
They feel at home.
On day one, your child gets a partner and a simple job. Nobody is behind, because everybody starts here.
They try again.
A program doesn't run, or a robot turns the wrong way. A coach asks a question instead of giving the answer, and your child tries again.
They build with others.
Your child and a partner take turns. One builds, one says what will happen, then they switch.
You can see it.
You get a simple email on what your child learned and how they're progressing.
From new and unsure, to a kid who belongs, tries new things, and builds with others.
We know it's hard to find something your child loves that's also good for them. Starting something new is harder for some kids than others. It's okay if it doesn't work the first time. That's where the learning starts.
“Even when something didn't work, he would figure it out and try again instead of giving up.”
LTCA Parent
“He'd walk in the door and immediately start explaining what he built that day, what didn't work, what he changed.”
LTCA Parent
“The instructors were patient, encouraging, and made my grandson feel comfortable right away.”
LTCA Grandparent
Coaches notice the moment your child makes room for a partner or tries again, and say what it was. “That's teamwork. You made room for your partner's idea.”
What your child does at the White Belt
Like in martial arts, a belt shows what a student can do and who they're becoming. White is where everyone starts.
| In coding | In robotics |
|---|---|
| Puts steps in order and says what a program will do. | Names the parts of a robot and says what each one does. |
| Runs it and explains what happened. | Follows a guided build and checks it. |
| Works well with a partner. | Tells the robot where to move, tests it, and compares to what they expected. |
In robotics, students also handle equipment safely and work with a group.
Young children show what they know by pointing, moving a card, drawing, or telling you. Older students work in pairs and check each other's work. No typing tests, memorized definitions, or timed exams.
Three steps to start
Book a free class. Your child tries a free, 60-minute class for their grade.
Watch your child build. See them put steps in order, say what will happen, and try again.
Enroll and keep building. Your child keeps going, class after class.
Most kids already love building things. They stack, tinker, and ask how it works. They also spend hours on games other people made. You want something that counts, and you don't want your child to feel behind on day one.
White Belt is where every student starts at Love to Code Academy, in coding or robotics. It's not a waiting room, and it's not about being the best. Your child works with a partner, follows a guided build, says what will happen, and tests it. When something doesn't work, a coach asks a question instead of giving the answer, then names what your child just did well. “That's persistence. You kept working after it failed.”
We know starting something new is harder for some kids than others. Classes are limited to 10 students, coaches are background-checked, and no experience is needed. You get a simple email on what your child learned and how they're progressing. Your child moves up when real work and real character show up across more than one class, not after a single great day.
Your child can spend another year using what others made, or start building something that works, with people who notice. Book a free class and watch.
How White Belt is earned
White Belt is about belonging, not about already knowing how. Coaches watch for these habits across several classes and different activities. One great session is not enough. They also look for real work, like a guided build, saying what will happen, and a result your child can explain.
Joins in at their own pace.
Takes turns and listens to a partner's idea.
Helps finish a guided build and can tell you how it works.
Starts to try again instead of giving up.
Shares ideas in words or other ways, and notices the people around them.
Your child moves up when they show they belong here.
See it before you decide.
